Uncle Jacob never could pass up a good Reuben. Hot corned beef, melted Swiss cheese, steaming tangy sauerkraut, creamy Russian dressing all piled high between two slices of marble rye. What's not to love? But it was the sauerkraut that he was addicted to. It added that unique flavor that you just didn't find on your average sandwich. He loved it so much that he served it as a side with his favorite sausage, knockwurst. He also let it sit in the slow cooker all day with his pot roast and a little beer for good measure.
